Four pillars. One whole-family model.
Each pillar is a program area, a fundraising portfolio, and an on-the-ground delivery category. Together they show how opportunity compounds across generations of rural families.
A child's future is shaped by more than what happens in a classroom.
It is shaped by health, nutrition, family stability, access to care and whether the adults around that child can build a secure livelihood. APLFI works across these connected conditions.
We help children access the care, health and early learning they need to develop. We support women and caregivers as they pursue greater knowledge, agency and economic security. We strengthen local food systems and prepare rural people for changing opportunities in agriculture, renewable energy and related livelihoods.
Each pillar addresses a different part of the same challenge. Together, they create the conditions for opportunity to grow from one generation to the next.

Strong Start
We support early childhood development, maternal and child nutrition, healthcare access, caregiver education, school readiness, vision care and disability inclusion - giving every rural child the foundation to thrive.

Strong Families
We strengthen the health, knowledge, agency and economic security of women and caregivers so they can support their families and build stronger futures across generations.

Secure Food
We strengthen access to nutritious food, local production, nutrition knowledge and the community systems that help rural families remain nourished through everyday life and times of disruption.

Resilient Futures
We prepare rural people and institutions for changing economies by building the skills, leadership and local capacity needed for resilient agriculture, renewable energy and related rural livelihoods.
