Following Typhoon Haiyan, APLFI moved quickly on a short-window response focused on food packs, school supplies, and temporary learning spaces for displaced families and schoolchildren in the hardest-hit provinces of the Eastern Visayas.

Apl also took part in the Pinoy Relief Benefit Concert at Madison Square Garden. Funds raised there supported continued relief distribution and the rebuilding of learning spaces through 2015. The effort connected the Filipino diaspora in the United States to recovery work on the ground and became a recurring model for the foundation's later diaspora fundraisers.
